After nearly two years away, the Matildas are finally home.
Some 19 months after their last match on home soil, Australia hosted Brazil on Saturday night in front of a healthy crowd at the newly-renamed Commbank Stadium.
The team last played in Australia in March 2020 when they defeated Vietnam in Olympics qualification.
Clare Polkinghorne gave the fans something to cheer about late in the first half, poking home from close range to give Tony Gustavsson's side a 1-0 lead going into the sheds.
They will play Brazil again at the same venue on Tuesday night.
